Application submitted for Lochluichart East BESS
On Friday 12th August, The Highland Council validated the application submitted by Boralex for a battery energy storage system (BESS) on Lochluichart Estate, near Garve…
Scotland leads the way in harnessing renewable energy sources. However, the net-zero targets set by Governments in Scotland, the UK and Europe will require further investment in grid and other technologies to support the growth in onshore wind. This is where Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) play a key role.
As part of this ambition, an application has been prepared and submitted for a BESS development close to Corriemoillie Substation. Boralex purchased onshore wind developer Infinergy, the developer of the Lochluichart Wind Farms, and has been operating as Boralex since early 2023. The company develops renewable energy technologies throughout the United Kingdom and has in-house expertise and experience needed to design, develop, build and operate BESS developments.
Community consultation
We have been working with the local Garve and District community for over 15 years, with the development of the Lochluichart Wind Farms and are keen to continue that good working relationship. This website aims to share information about the project throughout development and to invite members of the community to get in touch. We are always delighted to hear from you and value your opinion, but if you do not wish to speak to us directly, you can also do so via your elected representatives on the GDCC.
Please contact us if you have any queries or would like some more information on the project
