Welcome to Lochluichart East BESS

Scotland leads the way in harnessing renewable energy sources. However, the net-zero targets set by Governments in Scotland, the UK and Europe will require further investment in grid and other technologies to support the growth in onshore wind. This is where Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) play a key role.

As part of this ambition, an application is being prepared for a BESS development close to Corriemoillie Substation. Boralex purchased onshore wind developer Infinergy, the developer of the Lochluichart Wind Farms, and has been operating as Boralex since early 2023. The company develops renewable energy technologies throughout the United Kingdom and has in-house expertise and experience needed to design, develop, build and operate BESS developments.

Community consultation

We are keen to work with the local community. This website aims to share information about the project throughout development and to invite members of the community to get in touch. We are always delighted to hear from you and value your opinion.  Our next Community Open Day is planned for  Thursday 3rd April 2025 between 2.00pm and 7pm at Garve Village Hall.  We look forward to seeing you there.  If you aren’t able to make it along to our open day, you can find it all here.
